Rarely do I  see things that are so beautiful that I involuntarily start swearing. I’ve delicious’ed the link already, but here you go: Hussein Chalayan’s Spring Collection (Go to 5:40)

This reminds me a lot of what Ritchie was talking about. Historical styles that get a new spin when we try and represent them together or transform between them. A historical tracing of hemlines in a single garment. Victorian necklines and Dior bustles (sic?).  Anyway, this sort of breathtaking surprise-beauty made from mash-ups is what I’m looking for in my project.
